Jasmine Cottage is the perfect hide-away for a romantic sojourn for two or a quiet family time alone in the country. Surrounded by privacy, every window pane frames a view of the cottage flower gardens. Sunshine streams in during the peaceful days.

The private cottage garden includes a Mexican chimenea fireplace, hammock, chaise lounges, Weber BBQ and garden dining for 4 under the Hawthorne tree for al fresco dining. |

With fireplaces inside and outside, the cottage is cozy all times of the year. A queen bed is set apart in an intimate alcove. Two twin cabinet beds in the garden room serve as lounges during the day for reading, bird watching or playing games. A full kitchen is equipped with cooking gear and a fine collection of cookbooks for those who take pleasure in cooking for each other after gathering the local harvest. Gourmet food to go is available in town for guests who want to get away from the kitchen.
Hospitality is lavish, but unobtrusive here, since the privacy of guests is carefully guarded; a large library compiled over the 20 years since the owner first opened, a full kitchen, an equipped picnic basket, garden barbecue, laundry room and beach chairs are provided. A treasure trove of cues for exploring this rich area can be found in the naturalist's library - full of places to go and things to do - compiled over the 20 years since the owner opened this first vacation cottage in Point Reyes. Top quality videos about Point Reyes and the natural world are a key part of the private library.

Since its opening, guests of Jasmine Cottage have returned over the years to celebrate their friendships, honeymoons, anniversaries, and growing families. While still the ideal romantic setting, the cottage is very versatile – we also welcome children with books, games, jogger stroller, baby monitor, high chair and portable crib by request. No telephones or televisions are in the cottage to disturb the fashioned peace of the garden setting. A VCR and monitor are available to view an excellent nature video library. WIFY insde and out keeps you in touch with the outside world if necesary. If guests cannot bear to leave the other member of their family at home, perfectly behaved pets are allowed by prior arrangement.

We provide cottage guests with a collection of 150 volumes of naturalist writings and field guides about Point Reyes and the California Coast. Original art and that of other locals celebrating the Point Reyes area adorn the walls. Karen Gray's book, The Family Guide to Point Reyes, s out in it's first edition. Karen is currently working on an updated and revised edition. |
